Today's Quote--"I had an interview, I had an interview!!!"--Me

And it lasted for an hour and a half! You think it might be a good sign? Me too. I should find out very very very soon...like today or tomorrow. I actually wound up applying for two positions, since she had five applicants for the Camp PEACE and none for the Circle of Caring. I would love to be doing either, actually, so yeah, that'd be cool.

It was the best interview I've ever had, honestly. My last interview (in July?) I wanted to cry after, big mean stupid head guy. Grr. But this was great, I was a little nervous, had some tounge tied moments, felt all hot and sweaty a few times, but when I left, I felt really good. I felt really good about myself, not like "I've got the job" kinda good, but like "I am a capable person with skills and experience, and I can get a job." I think that was just the greatest feeling I've had in a long time. And it was just a kind of good general feeling too, as though by applying for these "volunteer" positions it was as good as actually helping someone.

Saturday I took the WEST-B...teacher test. It was kinda weird. Well, not the test, the test was easy, but it was a weird day. Of course, getting up at 6:30 on a Saturday is always weird. Then Ed and I drove to the wrong high school...Thanks for the directions Pappa. *sigh* But it was okay, because we had left mega early anyway...and the right high school was only like 15 minutes away anyway. Then when we got there their marching band was loading up to go to a competition. Oh god was I jelous! Oh the flood of happy memories...the stapling of pant hems...the duct taping of gloves to wrists...the duct taping of blisters...the noise...the excitement...the adrenaline rush...*sigh* Yes, I miss marching band. A lot. :) The people who were around to take the test were an interesting group...college age girls and a few guys...and then a bunch of middle-aged women and men. I felt weird, 'cause I had all my soka gear on (random choice that morning), but I knew I was more like the middle-agers who were getting ready to get their masters...but still like the college students because I've never been a teacher.

Then Ed came and got me (the test only took me 3 1/2 hours instead of the full 4 1/2...170 multiple choice questions and two essays. Piece of cake...except for the math...that took a little brain power...;)) and we went home. Then we left again to run errands. My closet had a catastrophic structural failure this last week. The bar that holds the hangers decided it didn't want to be attached to the wall anymore. So we had to get stuff to put the bar back up and stuff to fix a drawer in the kitchen. The drawer got fixed, but my closet is still out of commission. And a random neighbor gave us a dresser...actually what we needed. Amazing. Oh yes, my closet broke because I felt the need to clean...so I hung up everything that needed to be hung up...and crash boom bang...there went the closet. *sigh* Such is life.

Anyway, I'll update immediately if I get a job. :) Here's to hoping!
