Happy Independence Day!
Good words for a democrat like myself at this time in our nation's history. Sorry S, you know I still love you! ;) Anyway, yeah, good stuff. To love one's country doesn't mean one has to agree with or condone every action that country takes. I support our troops...I'm in support of bringing them home to their anxious and terrified families...I'm in support of taking measures that don't put them in harms way...of course, since we're already there, we have to finish what He started and rebuild Iraq. It's just a lose-lose situation, no one is happy, and it's only making the U.S.'s job of fixing up the country we just trashed harder. So yeah, sabatours...sure, you want the U.S. out, but if you keep destroying things, the U.S. is gonna have to stay and fix 'em. *sigh* No one wins in war. Yep, it's a nasty thing that I think we humans are at about the stage where we can find other methods of solving our problems and reconciling our differences. But that is just me, a simple, idealistic college student. I know it won't come easy or fast, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. Damnit. *sigh* Okay, anyway, off to enjoy my day of 'Yeah America'...I can whine about our faults at a later date. ;)
