Homework for the Overactive Brain

Today's Quote--"Happy birthday to me, Happy birthday to me..."

J mentioned the other day that what shows up on our blogs tends to be more dramatic than the reality. I wonder. I usually write just one tenth of how I feel, of what's been going on, etc., and yet it does seem dramatic. Perhaps our conception of reality is really the toned down version we present to the world, our passions and emotions being dangerous and freightening to our social sensibility. Perhaps we feel one thing, but in truth, we present the world with a watered-down version to suit everyone's sensative palates. No one wants to be that emotional, hysterical freak. But sometimes, that's how we really feel. Perhaps writing to an anoynmous audience gives us the freedom to express our true feelings to their true extent, rather than keep them hidden from the world. Maybe its a good thing we hide all this, because I just don't see how we could deal with everyone's true self. It's hard enough to deal with my own. Hmmmm...
