Today's quote--"I like reality. It tastes of bread."--Jean Anouilh
Yeah, that's about where my life is at right now...:-)
Yes, I managed to get into bed early...or whatever. Still tired though. Permanent state I think. Got homework done. Wanna go home...eek. where did that come from. Oy. Anyway. Just wanted to post something before my day gets totally insane. *sigh* Is it really too much to ask, to just sleep? Apparently. Whatever. Grrr. My brain's gone incohearent again. Hope Mom and Pappa get down to Idaho Falls okay today. Yeah!!! I get to go to Ghungroo today...finally. Very excited. Ahh, the simple pleasures in life. I wonder if I'll get all my classes tomorrow. Hmmmmmm. I hope so.
Yes. I know, none of you understand my 'hunter' culture. *sigh* Hunters have such a bad name in this day and age. Most hunters really respect nature and enjoy it...which may sound like a contridiction since they go out and kill 'innocent' creatures. But...it's the truth. There's a lot of respect involved...for the animal as well as nature. Yeah, so it can be pretty macho at times, but that's only 'cause there are guys involved. Can't help that. Guess there isn't a real way to explain it, but that is the kinda situation I grew up in, fishing and hunting trips, if not just plain camping, were very common with my friends. Why do people think fishing is so much less horrible than hunting? Same thing...killing animals for food...nobody cares as much for the cold blooded fishes I guess...have to be all cute and fuzzy to get people upset. *sigh* Yeah, poachers are bad. Hunters are not poachers. BIIIIIIIG distinction. Half of my hunter's ed course was all about taking care of the land you hunt on, the animals you hunt, how to be respectful of more than just your gun. Right...welll, I'll just leave that one alone. Can't win. I'm sure there are probably about 2 other people on this campus who feel similarly about hunting.
ps. You know where the money for hunting license go? It's a lot of money...It goes to the Fish and Wildlife department. You know what they do with it? Take care of fish and wildlife...make sure diseases don't spread, protect and move animals that get themselves into nasty situations like getting stuck in a suburban area, make sure habitat is protected. And the whole point of having this system is to make sure that the animals aren't overhunted, that 'bambi' situations don't happen, and to protect them in the first place. Okay, so I know that there are pleanty of objections, and it may seem absurd...but that's how I see things. Right, getting off the soap box and going to class now. :-)
