Today's Quote--"Paranoia, paranoia, everybody's coming to get me..."--Harvey Danger

Yeah, JP's post got it stuck in my head. I like that song too...

No I haven't died. I'm still kicking. And in the past 11 days about three of my goals for the year have been crossed off the list. Amazing...really.

Goal #1
Move out of my parents' house
Well, we're in our 1 bedroom apartment now, and we're just running small box loads back and forth. We're nearly unpacked with our original boxes too! Yep...full refrigerator, cupboards, and stuff that works. We're now working on getting a real bed (we've been using a blow up bed we borrowed from my folks) and some sort of couch...we're thinking one of those huge beanbag chairs...multifunction is the word of the day.

Goal #2
Have a steady job
Yep, despite telling me I wouldn't find out if I could stay at Sears until after Christmas...last week my manager told me I was being hired on over in housewares as an MCA/cashier. Way cool...I know they're pawning me off over there because I'm not strong like the lads they've got working in tools right now, but hey, I'm okay with bedding, china, and small appliances. Don't worry, the buff arms will stick around...large piles of towels are heavy too, you know.

Goal #3
Have my own transportation
Well...this is the almost goal. I live within walking distance of my job now, so that's not a biggie...and I can take the bus there in three minutes...it takes all of three minutes to get to the bus stop from my apartment...hell, I can see it out my bedroom window. I can walk to our Rite Aid for quick grocheries in about five minutes (it's across the street). But...for those times when I need to really go somewhere...I now have a car...for three weeks out of the month. Yes, Ed got an assignment at work, which will hopefully help us out with some extra cash and means he gets to drive a Mercedes station wagon for three weeks out of the month, leaving me with his Saturn. The only downside is that he's going to be on-call 24-7 those three weeks. He's the new roadside assistance tech, so whenever a Mercedes owner has a flat or a dead battery, guess who gets to drive to the rescue...yes, indeedie, my knight in shining armor...Ed. Well, he's not so thrilled about it, but I can definately see it as a benefit.

So yep, things are going well...and I should go check my laundry and get back to our apartment. Here's crazy for you...tomorrow I work noon to 8:30 pm...and Sunday I work at 5...AM. Yeah, cutting it close to the 8 hours between shifts mark! Well...I do like the store before people show up to shop...it's peaceful and you feel like you can actually get work done! So when you're in a store and pick something up, if you decide not to buy it, please, don't just set it down anywhere...take it to the cash register or put it back where you got it. I tell you, it messes with our stock counts when people put frying pans in the automotive tools section!!!!

:D But love to all...and Merry Christmas....Although I'm sure I'll post again before then....must finish presents!
