Today's Quote--"Death twitches my ear. "Live," he says, "I am coming.""--Virgil

Forgot...my grandmother's name is Eva Lou Firestone. :) Thanks to all those who responded with encouragement. I'm doing much better. Tuesday was very difficult. Yesterday I was in a daze. Today I'm beginning to return to myself. Maybe I'm just in AnD's denial stage, but...I know she wouldn't want me to stop my life for her...she never took any crap from anyone, and would never appreciate it from me. She was a very strong, courageous woman who lived life on her terms. Sometimes it made things difficult...and she was quite ecentric sometimes too. But, I think I can take all of that and live my life better for it. Just like this quote. Actually...I'm gonna share a few of them with you...'cause my quote book has several good ones. :) Remember, our time here is limited, we must make of every moment what we can, and always appreciate what we can do.

"At it's most basic root, the death or disintegration of one's parents is a harsh reminder of one's own mortality."--Janet Harris
"Do not go gentle into that good night
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light." --Dylan Thomas (I've loved that poem since I read it in HS)
"There is no such thing as death,
In nature, nothing dies:
From each sad moment of decay
Some forms of life arise."--Charles Mackay

And of course, some lines from John Donne whose poetry I also fell in love with in HS...
"Death be not proud, though some have called Thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so."
"One short sleep past will wake eternally
And death shall be no more;
Death thou shalt die."
"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

And just to round out the classics...Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'
"The undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveller returns."

There are thousands more, of course. But as I move forward, I will always remember to cherish every moment. Her strength, courage, and independence are mine, too. Moving forward...
