"The Cowardly never started. The Weak died along the way. Only the Strong Arrived. They were the pioneers."--from "About Schmidt"

Gee, this sounds a lot like life at Soka. Yeah, that's what it's like to be a pioneer, even if there aren't any covered wagons involved. I hope to be one of the strong that arrive at graduation, but you never know. And you know what, even if someone 'died' along the way, at least they were brave enough to start out in the first place. This pioneer thing is scary, from any end of the journey.

Anyway, only 2 weeks before I'm off to Japan and I feel it getting really close. Today I think my cat finally decided I'm staying...gosh I hate to disappoint her. Oy. If I think about it too much I start freaking out or crying...or at least wanting to. I'm really going to miss home. But even more, I'm going to miss SUA and all of my lovely friends and all the great people there...and some of the others too...;-) So, enough on that subject...Good Luck Pooh-Bear! I don't know when you're leaving (I'm off August 25), but enjoy Mexico and stay strong...the homesickness never goes away, but you can learn to live with it. And just think, when you get home, it will become a beautiful place filled with people who you just adore to pieces. That old saying, 'abscence makes the heart grow fonder' is true.

Anyway, back to the inconsequential stuff. I wrote a new prologue for my book, and I posted it up on "The Creative Brain", so hop over there and check it out. I've also started a new book. Yep, I think this one is going to be a book too, and I think it'll be pretty good. It's all my own stuff, from my own brain, and from the one person I've read the storyline to, it sounds like people might actually want to read it. If you like fantasy novels, anyway. It won't be a Stephen King 400 pager, but may get to 200. Maybe...don't really know, just have the prologue and the first chapter written so far. And who knows how much I'll be able to write in Japan...I'm thinking I'm not going to take my computer...too much risk, not enough benefit. So I'd be writing by hand...which hasn't ever bothered me too much...right, well anyway...there it is. When I see ya'll, I'll tell ya about it if you want to hear. Of course if you want info in advance of that (which may be a while for some of you), you can always email me and ask. :)

Right, well I'm off to go do some writing on that story, may even get chapter two done tonight. :) Just want all my buds to know that I'm thinking of ya and sending you lots of love before school starts. :) Hugs all around! later!
