Today's Quote--"Datte, datte, daisuki dakara."--Coma
Cute song. In Japanese. It is, it is, because I really like you! Just finished writing my letter to my host family...in Japanese. Wow...it's been awhile. And once I get to Japan...oy. Anyway...also finished my paper and transcribing our video. All we need now is to film credits and titles, then edit, and we're done. God, that was a painful assignment. Oh well, almost done. Also took things off my walls. Though it wasn't much, my room feels really empty now. Now, I just have to start packing. And buy my ticket to Japan (I have not enough money, but hey, has that ever stopped me before? No...but I have to pay tomorrow. Oy. Let's hope this check doesn't bounce. No one likes rubber checks...especially for over $150). Grrr. Not much else going on.

Saying goodbye. I won't be back here until January, 2004. And some people I won't see until Fall 2004. This next year is going to be painful...my chest squeezes tight just thinking about it. It will be a whole different campus when I come back. 100 new freshmen. New faculty. Old friends gone. Because of SARS there will only be about 35 Juniors on campus in the spring. Out of 110, that's a big cut. These people are my family, and I'll miss them so terribly. Especially all my friends, J, and E, and S, and A...and Ju will likely be gone too. We couldn't room together, so I have a room to myself when I come back. At least PoohBear will be here...and in the same building as me. Small comforts help. Of course, if this SARS thing keeps up, the Chinese students may well end up hanging out here in some sort of 'chinese house' during the spring. Aside from all my friends, there is the simple aspect of not being HERE for 7 months. No Ghungroo. No BVSC. No Salsa clubs. No SOCCO. No BF. And for 4 months I'll be living in someone else's house. Hmmm. I want that, but it will be odd. So much...to miss.

Went out dancing last night. Had a lot of fun...it was just R and 4 girls...we enjoyed pulling him out on the dance floor and taking 'turns' while the poor guy had to dance nearly every song. He loved it though...I'm sure. I got 5 dance requests and said yes once. It's always a nice ego boost...especially when one realizes that you can say no...lol. Interesting, but not as bad as some of my previous expereinces. No drugdealers. They even had a table set up in the women's bathroom selling stuff, like cigarettes, gum, hair spray, all kinds of things. Weird.

I'm looking forward to going home, but I know I'm going to miss this place horribly. At least I get to go to Portland the first week of June for our own little reunion...a week and a half after we left SUA...LOL. We're dorks, but we do love each other a lot. Packing...is evil. *sigh* Always more to do than time allows. Mmm.
