Today's quote--"Whatever is not nailed down is mine. Whatever I can pry loose is not nailed down."--Collis P. Huntington
Don't know, it's just funny.
Anyway, 3 finals down, 1 to go. So, what have I learned in the past 3 1/2 months?
Peace Studies:
The Blue Helmets rock. Canada is cool. Costa Rica is pretty nifty too. If I don't do ALL the reading, I'll still be okay. People need to calm down, sit down, and shut up. The UN is the bomb (pun not really intended, but it's kinda funny in a punny kinda way) and needs more power. If I don't do ANY of the reading, I'll still be okay. Give up on positions, get down to interests and principles. This world is full of stupid people. Diplomacy takes way too much time, but is too important to get rid of. Education is Key. Attending class is key, but not as important as Education. Wait. Attending class is education. Damn.
Liberal Arts Math:
Math has no place in real life, no matter how hard anyone will try to tell you it does. If you can add, subtract, mulitply and divide, you're set for life. Screw algebra and geometery, let alone calculus or any of that other crap. Loving what you do is great, but it doesn't mean anyone else will find it interesting. If we're not careful, it's really easy to slip back to High School mode. This world is full of stupid people. I mean, people really think looking at the golden mean will tell their future? Come on, now.
Psychological Disorders:
I like Psych. I'm crazy, and so are all of you. If it's distressing or causes impairment, it's probably listed in the DSM-IV. If not, it'll be listed in the DSM-V. J&J are a cute couple. Sitting around and bulls***ing in class is the best, especially when you get great research ideas out of it...like are people more angry when you hit their heads vs. if you hit some other part of their body, and does this have an evolutionary explination? This world is full of stupid people. Delusions and hallucinations look like fun, but probably would just end up being annoying. If there's something wrong with you and you go see a Psychoanalyst, you just had a F***ed up childhood. The brain is the seat of all knowledge, and pain, and crazyness, and stupidity...For every disorder you look at, you can think of at least one person you know who probably has it, if not yourself. Dr. B has 2 personality disorders, and the entire (and I do mean entire) class agrees. While I'm getting therapy, I can recognize what's going on, in my mind, in the session, in the therapist's mind...
Japanese'll have to wait until after the test. However, I go home the day after tomorrow, and I found a ride to the airport that isn't a shuttle. Happy Day! My hand hurts now, so I'm going to go take a nap. Wow. That was random...I wonder if it counts as a loose association...hmmmmm
